COMMUNICATING SCIENCE:
Animating the Ocean's Biological Carbon Pump
This is a project I worked on for about a year with my very talented brother, Nicolas Kendall-Bar. I worked on the science and designs and my brother vividly brought it all to life. This complex process has been greatly simplified, but it demonstrates the incredible importance of the ocean in all of our lives. Enjoy!
The Exploratorium invited me to present this animation and other work on carbon chemistry in the ocean during their After Dark “Everything Matters: Tales of the Periodic Table” series. On March 16th 2017, I was able to share the recent findings of our research team with a room full of my professors, advisors, friends, and members of the public. I enjoyed the challenge of creating a talk geared toward the general public that relied on powerful graphics and storytelling to communicate science.
I hope you enjoy the talk!
